Peaceful and
gentle spirited Pope Francis has been awarded the Best Dressed Man of 2013 by
Esquire Magazine.
This is
definitely 'unconventional' because the Head of the Catholic Church mostly
wears his Papal regalia; regardless Esquire Magazine has named him their Best
Dressed Man of 2013.

Church' Prince William to Enroll as Full-Time Student at Cambridge University
Prince William of United Kingdom is set to
become the most famous student at Cambridge University as he goes back to
school in 2014, Kensington Palace announced Monday.
William has enrolled as a full-time student
in a bespoke program in agricultural management, organized by the Cambridge
Programme for Sustainability Leadership.
According
to a statement released by the Palace, William's so-called "executive
education program" begins in early January and runs until mid-March.
The Duke's goal? To formulate "an understanding of
contemporary issues affecting agricultural business and rural communities in
the United Kingdom."
All told, he'll have 18 to 20 hours of
lectures per week, and a dorm room will be available should he need to stay the

The Federal Government has barred airlines from flying into the Maiduguri airport until March 2014; documents obtained by our correspondent have shown.
According to a Notice to Airmen sent by the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency to airline operators, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent, the carriers were told that the airport would no longer be available for flights until March 2014.
In the NOTAM, which was filed through NAMA’s Aeronautical Information Services, and sent to some Control Towers across the country, pilots were informed that the Maiduguri airport was shut during the first week of December and would not be available until early March next year.
Simeon Obodo, Nigerian Killed In India, Buried In His Hometown in Imo State
Talking with the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Monday, a representative of the family, Ejike Esinkoye, said the funeral service of Mr. Obodo took place on Monday and he expressed dismay that the Federal Government did not send any official delegation to the burial.

When PREMIUM TIMES visited the mortuary, many of the bodies, carelessly kept in an unrefrigerated shipping container, were already decomposing – fluid from the bodies kept in the upper cabinets was dripping freely on the bodies below. One bereaved husband, who had to remove the body of his wife due to the shabby way it was handled, described seeing a body so badly decomposed that its head was almost severed from its body.

2014: FG To Maintain Presidential Jets With N1.52Bn - Punch
The Federal Government has budgeted N1.52b for the maintenance of the 10 aircraft currently in the Presidential Air Fleet in 2014.
The maintenance cost is slightly higher than the N1.5bn proposed as the initial deposit for the purchase of additional aircraft that will bring the number of aircraft in the fleet to 11.
This is apart from the N747m earmarked for the purchase of aviation fuel for the aircraft already in the fleet.

Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Sanusi To Leave Office April 1
Governor of Central
Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mallam Lamido Sanusi will proceed on retirement leave
effective April 1st 2014, two months to the end of his tenure.
It would be recalled
that President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua nominated Sanusi as Governor of the
Central Bank of Nigeria on June 1, 2009 and his appointment was confirmed
by the Senate on June 3, 2009. Hence his five year tenure is
scheduled to end on June 3rd 2014.
Contrary to
speculations that he has been forced to immediately procede on retirement
leave, investigations revealed that Sanusi will still be CBN Governor till
March 31st.

The man accused of
killing his mother in Deep River, Conn., on Thurs., disemboweled her, according
to a police report. Troopers responded to a home at 131 Rattling Valley Road
around 1 p.m. Thursday after receiving a 911 call from the victim's ex-husband.
Robert Owen Rankin, the victim's 22-year-old
son, was arrested and charged with murder. Rankin and his father were outside
the house when police arrived.
On Friday, state police identified the victim as
45-year-old Margaret Rohner. According to court documents, Rankin admitted the
crime to his father and then to the first state police trooper who arrived on
the scene.

The Lebanese boss who battered pregnant staff has been arrested
The Nigerian police have arrested the Lebanese
boss who allegedly beat up
a pregnant factory worker, causing her to lose her 7-months pregnancy. Kaveh
Noine, a manager with Toppan Printing Company located in Ikeja Industrial
Estate, was arrested yesterday Friday December 27th in Kano where he fled to
and was brought back to Lagos to face justice.
The victim Alexandra Ossai, above, confirmed that Mr Noine had assaulted her several times during her short stay at the company and indeed kicked her in the stomach few days before she lost her pregnancy. Alexandra also said the Lebanese manager was in the habit of physically assaulting other workers whenever he felt they stepped out of line.

to visit the company and talk with other workers and find out if more people
were abused by him.
