Nigerian Transgender Ms Sahhara took to her facebook page today to express her distaste over the maltreatment of four alleged homosexuals in Warri recently.

Here's the story; one of the four men that was disgrace blew the lid of the other homosexuals when one of them camped him and had sex with him without paying him for services rendered. The guy then proceeded to a Local Government Chairman's office in Warri, Delta state to report the case and exposed all of them. The chairman instructed the arrest of all four men and asked for them to stripped in public and had their pictures taken. See Ms Sahhara's rant after the cut...

Nollywood actor Jibola Dabo, who has five children from different women said in a recent interview with TheNetng that he's an ardent supporter of polygamy and believes that most men in Africa are polygamous in nature. Read what he said below and tell us if you agree with him...

"People misunderstands what polygamy means. I am an ardent supporter of polygamy. Every single man, mostly from Africa, is polygamous in nature. We are just deceiving ourselves. Polygamy means when you see a woman you love and desire, you marry her with the consent of your already married wife and bring her home. It's not when you have one wife at home, then you have others scattered in different other places, that is not polygamy. And not when you have three wives and you cannot take care of one, that is an insult to polygamy. There are so many women out there who just want to have a man as an umbrella, but we keep saying one man one woman. Yet the women keep suffering. We all know that we have much more women in this world than men, the ratio is too high.

My father had six wives, my uncle that brought me up had so many wives also. What I am saying is that it is not illegal, we are not in America. Ironically, the white man would have one wife and still keep so many mistresses. If not, there wouldn't have been an English word for concubines. That means it exists in their culture. Which is better, concubines or wives? In the days when polygamy was well respected, diseases were not rampant. It is now that when men hide to do it that strange sexually transmitted diseases have become the order of the day" he said.

Yemisi Ilo, a creative consultant and project manager, says she's been living with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly 10 years and feels that Zara Gretti’s situation shouldn’t have deteriorated to the point of death. She said she was being given ‘Agbo’ to drink by her family and that it was killing her. Those were her exact words. I told her to not drink it. With an already compromised immune system – Agbo is bullshit. It is poison. MS is not malaria. I gave Zara clear details of exactly what she needed to do to try to get well. It isn’t easy at all - I should know but unfortunately for her, she was surrounded by very ignorant people at the end who felt that they knew best. I first heard of Zara when I read about her on Linda Ikeji‘s blog a year ago. I got in touch with her immediately and started a Skype friendship. I was in London and she was in the States (US). We spoke regularly.

SSS confirms 21 deaths after failed jailbreak by Boko Haram men

 

The spokesperson for the Department of State Security Services (SSS), Marilyn Ogar said yesterday that 21 detained terrorists died during the attempted jailbreak at the Service's headquarters in Abuja on Sunday morning.

"Following our earlier releases, it has been established that eighteen (18) casualties were recorded, while two (2) Service personnel sustained serious injuries. Three (3) other detainees who sustained gunshot injuries during the incident have also died.

"Meanwhile, investigation is still ongoing to ascertain the immediate and remote causes.

"We wish to state that the roads leading to the office were cordoned-off to prevent possible assistance from external collaborators. During this period, the precinct of the office and adjoining neighborhoods were thoroughly searched.

"We wish to restate our commitment to the safety of the people and the Nigerian nation at large.” Marilyn Ogar said in a further statement released yesterday

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor in a recent interview with Punch  bared his mind on the notion that Nigerian pastors milk their poor church members. Excerpts:

• People claim churches milk the poor and live big on them. What’s your take on this?

It is cheap to criticise; even to criticise what you don’t understand. People don’t understand what they say about the church milking the poor. Can a poor man have money to pay tithe? A man who has no job, can he pay tithe? No, he won’t be able to pay. So how do you milk a man who has no milk?

In a church, you have both the poor and the rich. It is generally not the poor that finance the church. It is those with the means. A man, for example, who earns N10,000, how much is his tithe? His tithe is N1,000. A man who earns N500,000, how much is his tithe? His tithe is 10 per cent which is N50,000. How much would you milk from a man who pays a tithe of N1000?

Women in revealing clothes deserve to be raped - says a poll in Brazil

According to a report by AFP, a poll in Brazil says a woman who shows off her body deserves to be raped. We are talking about Brazil, the land of samba, voluptuous carnival dancers and mini bikinis.

Of the 3,810 respondents of both sexes who responded to the government’s Institute of Applied Economic Research (IPEA) survey released last week, about 2,480 - 65% - justified raping women who wear “clothing that shows off the body.”

And 58.5% of respondents also agreed that “if women knew how to behave, there would be fewer rapes.”
 

This poll has triggered outrage in the country, especially when it was revealed that most of the poll’s respondents - 66.5% - were women. So wait, it is okay to walk near-naked in a carnival, but not in real life?  Well, i haven't seen any justification for rape...

Nigerian lesbian asylum seeker says she faces death sentence if deported

 

46 year old Nigerian lesbian asylum seeker in the UK, Adejumoke Apata (pictured above), says she risks a death sentence if she is deported to Nigeria.

Ms Apata says she fled Nigeria in 2004 and claims that her girlfriend who refused to go with her, was brutally murdered by vigilantes in 2012.

Before she left Nigeria, Adejumoke said she was subjected to homophobic torture, persecution and a brutal arrest after she was exposed as a gay woman. She claims she was also sentenced to death by stoning for being a lesbian.


Adejumoke, who is facing deportation, doesn't want to be deported and has started a campaign aimed at persuading people to sign a petition against her deportation.

"Returning to Nigeria is not an option for me, because as well as a death sentence hanging over me, I will face 14 years in prison due to the anti-gay law that was passed by the Nigerian Government in January 2014. I want to remain in the UK in order to contribute positively to the society and support my girlfriend, who I am now engaged to," Adejumoke said in a YouTube video.

Solidstar Signed As Super Eagles Ambassador For Brazil 2014

 

Nigerian musician Solidstar has just signed an ambassador deal with the Nigerian Football Association in-conjunction with the Nigerian Football Supporters Club.

The deal will have Solidstar record the official Super Eagles theme song which will be used to unite and inspire the players on and off the pitch and also our country.

Dr. Rafiu Oladipo who represented the NFA and who also is the president of the supporters club in a statement said – We needed someone who was passionate about Nigeria football and who has that gyration in his voice and who the new and old generation can relate to and it was just Solidstar that came to mind”

The “Negotiate” crooner with joy appreciated the football association and the supporters club and said he is humbled by Dr. Oladipo’s kind words and he won’t disappoint in the new project.

Minister for Interior Abba Moro takes the blame for NIS tragedy

 

The Minister of Interior, Abba Moro yesterday accepted blame for the poorly conducted immigration recruitment exercise that led to the death of 16 youths on March 15th. Mr Moro appeared before the Senate Committee on Interior Matters Panel instituted by the senate to investigate circumstances that led to the ill-fated exercise. While expressing his sympathy to those that died, Moro said as with most administrative exercises, the end result cannot be determined...

National Conference “Sleeping Delegate” Hamma Misau Is Dead

 

A delegate at the ongoing National Conference in Nigeria, retired police AIG Hamma Misau has died at the National Hospital in Abuja. Mallam Misau died last night of an undisclosed illness at the age of 67.
Mallam Misau became famous after a photo of him taking a nap at the conference was shared on social media three days ago.

Barrister Mohammed Hamma a cousin to the retired police officer confirmed his demise. He said a Muslim funeral is due shortly in Bauchi for the late delegate. Mallam Hamma Misau hails from Misau in Bauchi state.

"Let the wrath of God be your portion" - Tchidi Chikere's estranged wife reacts to Nuella's statement

 

Sophia Tchidi Chikere (pictured left) has reacted to the statement released yesterday by actress Nuella Njubigbo who claimed she only started dating the movie director after his marriage to Sophia packed up. Sophia says this is absolutely not true.

Speaking exclusively with LIB, Sophia said she didn't know about the impending wedding until she read it here. She also said she initially found the news hard to believe because she and Tchidi are not formally divorced yet.

Reacting to Nuella's comments that the affair with Tchidi only started after his marriage ended, Sophia says it's a blatant lie, that Nuella started dating Chidi long before their marriage ended, and actually blamed Nuella for the demise of her marriage that produced three boys.
