"Most celebrity women sleep with big men' -Uti Nwachukwu

During a discussion with Dolapo Oni, Bolanle Olukanni and Michelle Dede on the Boy & Girl Talk Marriage section on Moments With Mo show, Big Brother star Uti Nwachukwu said the reason why he and most men can't marry women in the Nigerian entertainment industry is because the women sleep around with big men and they know it.

"Most celebrity women in the entertainment industry have had to sleep with one big man or the other to have the comfortable life they live. Its common knowledge".

He said whenever he hangs out with his friends and they talk about getting married to actresses, that most times the men say never because they've met these actresses in private places with these big men.

A man on trial for rape for allegedly refusing to wear a condom on the third time he had sex with a woman in a one-night stand has told the jury it was 100 per cent consensual.

Imomotimi Wilson, 30, met his alleged victim in a pub and she agreed to go back to his house but told him she would only have sex if he used protection.

 

They had consensual sex twice but on the third occasion claims that Wilson failed to use a condom.

The woman, a 40-year-old, said Wilson treated her 'like a piece of meat' as the alleged attack took place. She said he held her hands over her head and told her 'if you love me you'll do it' before raping her for 15-20 seconds. continue...

Rutgers University is offering a course on Beyoncé;“Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé”.

You can now study a course on Beyoncé at the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies in Rutgers University.

 

The class, which is called “Feminist Perspectives: Politicizing Beyoncé,” is being offered during the Spring semester at the college.

Queen Bey 101 is taught by PhD candidate Kevin Allred, who explained to the Rutgers Today newspaper exactly what students can expect from the class.

“This isn’t a course about Beyoncé’s political engagement or how many times she performed during President Obama’s inauguration weekend. Rather, the performer’s music and career are used as lenses to explore American race, gender and sexual politics.”

Allred pairs the lesson plans with the “Drunk in Love” songstress’ music videos and lyrics – he’s got plenty of material to choose from now.

But it’s not all Bey all the time. He also includes writing from artists and pioneers in the black feminist movement like Sojourner Truth and Alice Walker.

And according to Allred, Beyoncé’s class will be much more than a glossed-over run-through of her career.

“It’s important to shift students away from simply being consumers of media toward thinking more critically about what they’re engaging on a regular basis.”

And for those fans of Bey’s other half, they can enroll in the Georgetown University course dubbed, “The Sociology of Hip-Hop: Jay Z.”

Ondo Immigration Service Raid And Make Arrests At 'Baby Factory' In Okitipupa

Ondo State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) busted a 'baby factory' syndicate on Wednesday in Ilutuntun, Okitipupa local government area of the state.

During the raid Command officials were pelted with sticks and stones.

21 people were arrested, including pregnant women and nursing mothers, and five children were found in a building owned by Mrs. Happiness Ogundeji.

Ms. Ogundeji was arrested along with her husband, Mr. Abiodun Ogundeji.

It is alleged by the NIS they operated the baby factory for years.

Ondo State Controller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Musa Alhassan said they were given a tip about the illegal child trafficking and adoption syndicate by Command headquarters in Abuja, following weeks of surveillance.

Court sentenced Policeman to death by hanging for killing 20yr old man

 

Justice has finally come the way of the family of slain Emmanuel Victor (pictured above), a 20 year old young man who was killed in front of his mother by a trigger-happy Policeman, Mathew Egheghe, two years ago in Yenogoa, Bayelsa state.

Victor was shot dead after he confronted a group of policemen who were trying to extort money from motorists as he was coming back from church. Angered by his effrontery to question their action, Policeman Egheghe moved close to Victor and shot him at close range.

Narrating what happened, Victor's mother Grace, who witnessed the incident said:

"They shot my son brutally. As he fell while they were shooting him, the tallest of them still continued shooting him on the ground". She said she was harassed and stopped from going close to her dying son even as he lay gasping for life in the pool of his own blood.

 

Delivering his judgement on the case, Justice Lucky Boufili said that such a cruel act was only punishable by the maximum penalty which is death. He sentenced Mathew Egheghe to death by Hanging. The police has since dismissed Mathew Egheghe and his two accomplices from the force.

Rivers police release 275 ‘Boko Haram suspects’, probe 19

 

The Rivers State Police Command has released the 320 suspected members of Boko Haram sect.

 

The suspects were released around 3.45pm on Wednesday on the directive of the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Joseph Mbu.

 

Nineteen of them are said to be under investigation, including one that was alleged to be in possession of an expended ammunition.

Former Kano State governor Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, defects to PDP

Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Kano State governor, on Wednesday defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), with his loyalists.

Shekarau, backed by his supporters from the 44 local government areas of the state, made the declaration at his Bompai GRA residence in Kano.

According to him, the decision is to satisfy the aspirations of the people of the state who felt left out from the APC.

“We intended with the merger to form a solid foundation for entrenchment of democracy.

“The Legacy Group sacrificed all interests for the merger, but for the past six months all agreements reached by the merged parties had not being met.

“No clear leaders, no registration of APC members at any levels. This shows a clear lack of commitment, transparency and accountability to all concerned,” he said.

President Jonathan seeks death penalty for cyber crime

President Jonathan is seeking the death penalty for any person who is found guilty of hacking into Criminal National Information Infrastructure or any computer network that would lead to loss of lives

The bill which is called the Cyber Crime bill 2013 and currently before the House of Reps, seeks to address all forms of criminality within the cyberspace and also proposes a life sentence for anyone who uses any computer network to carry out terrorism acts. In a case where there is no loss of life but the offender causes grave bodily harm, the bill recommends a prison term of not less than 15months.

A 10 year jail term or a fine of N20million or both is been proposed for anyone who engages in child pornography..

The bill defines Critical National Information Infrastructure as 'certain computer systems, networks information infrastructure vital to the national security of Nigeria or the economy & social well-being of its citizen'.

Governor Sullivan Fighting With His Deputy? Deputy Gov's Poultry Farm Gets Invaded, All The Birds Seized!

About 3,500 chickens and about 40 crates of eggs were on Monday carted away from the poultry farm of the Enugu State Deputy Governor, Mr. Sunday Onyebuchi, as officials of the state Capital Territory Development Authority (ECTDA) and Ministry of Environment invaded his official lodge, allegedly on the “orders from above.” According to reports, the carting away of the chickens and eggs is preparatory for the eventual destruction of the farm.

The ECTDA and Environment Ministry officials who were led by their commissioners, Messrs Ikechukwu Ugwuegede and Nnaemeka Chukwuone respectively, arrived the lodge at about 1pm on Monday to inform the Deputy Governor of an order to evacuate the birds and demolish the poultry which the government claimed was constituting public health hazard.
